Hey, hey ladies! In this week’s episode of the Set Apart Online Business Podcast, I dove deep into organic marketing strategies that actually work – especially for those of us building faith-based online coaching businesses that glorify God and serve our families. If you’re a Christian Coach, Course Creator, or Ministry Leader who wants to build a business without selling your soul to the social media grind, this one’s for you!
You know I’m all about freedom. Freedom in our schedules. Freedom in our finances. Freedom to follow Jesus radically and raise our families while building legacy. But here’s the truth…even though I love using paid ads to drive traffic, organic marketing is still a major part of our business – because it works. Not only does it build trust, but it creates a binge-worthy eco-system that nurtures your people and lays a strong foundation for when paid traffic rolls in.
So if I were building my online coaching business completely organically, these are the six things I would double down on right now:
1. Collaborations: Kingdom Connections That Build Trust
There’s something special about being invited into someone else’s space – whether it’s a podcast interview, a summit, or a list swap. When another leader introduces you to their audience, there’s built-in trust. I’ve had clients come in solely from these types of collaborations!
Now, I haven’t done a ton of these because, well…I’m a busy homeschool mama and I like my calendar to stay light. But if I were starting over, I’d hustle in this area. Hard. Because getting in front of other people’s audiences is the fastest way to grow organically. Imagine being featured on 50 to 100 podcasts a year – just think of the traffic, the community, the impact. It’s powerful.
2. Google Search and SEO: Your Silent Sales Team
This might sound old-school, but y’all…don’t sleep on SEO. I built my first business, a Denver wedding photography brand – entirely off of Google search. I had over 250 inquiries in a single year without posting on social media or sending a single email. That’s how powerful SEO can be.
Right now, we optimize every podcast blog post (just like this one!) with Christian coaching keywords and high-converting search terms. We’ve found that some of our best-fit clients come in this way. These are the people who are already looking for a Christian Business Coach or a faith-filled mentor…they just need to find you.
This year, I’m even considering testing Google Ads because our organic results are so strong. Imagine what could happen when you pair organic traffic with paid. Unstoppable!
3. Pinterest: The Long Game That Pays Off
This is one of those platforms I’ve wanted to crack the code on for years. It’s been on my heart to start showing up here more consistently because pins don’t disappear – they can drive traffic for years. It’s keyword-driven, evergreen, and perfect for faith-based course creators who want to show up in search.
The catch? You’ve got to be consistent and strategic. But I’m seeing clients use Pinterest to fill their coaching programs, especially those who blog or create long-form content. Radical consistency and optimized pins = long-term visibility.
4. Podcasting: The Trust-Building Machine
Ladies, podcasting is one of the strongest organic marketing tools you can use. It’s intimate. It’s personal. People binge. I’ve had students tell me they cried when my dog died because they felt like they knew me. That’s the kind of connection we’re after.
I have one student who followed my podcasting program and now has over 300,000 downloads. That’s wild! And so, if you’re looking to build authentic authority in the online Christian coaching space, podcasting is a great place to start. Plus, it’s such a beautiful nurturing tool – even if it’s not your primary traffic driver.
5. YouTube: The Missed Opportunity I’m Ready to Embrace
Okay…real talk. YouTube is something I haven’t leaned into yet, but I know I need to. It’s another search engine-based platform, just like Google and Pinterest, which means your videos can live and breathe forever.
I have clients who are getting amazing traction through YouTube, and honestly, I feel like I’m leaving money on the table. If you’re building a coaching business organically, I highly recommend carving out the time to invest in a YouTube strategy. It may take 6 to 12 months to see traction – but the long-term payoff? Worth it.
6. Talking with People: The OG Sales Strategy
We can’t underestimate the power of real conversations. Whether it’s DMs, email responses, or chats with women in your church – talking to people will always drive sales. That’s how I started. And that’s how I continue to build.
In today’s world, people crave connection. So be that person who reaches out, listens, and shares. Sometimes the best sales strategy is simply showing up with your heart and having a conversation.
Final Thoughts: Layer Your Marketing with Faith + Consistency
I know organic marketing takes time. It’s not always fast. But it’s trustworthy. It’s authentic. And when paired with paid traffic and an anointed message, it becomes part of a marketing strategy that can’t be stopped.
God has set you apart to build something powerful – and He’s going to give you what you need in every season. You don’t have to hustle like the world. You get to show up with discernment, strategy, and faith.
