Hey, hey, my incredible tribe of faith-filled and fiery entrepreneurs! Today’s podcast episode is something special. As a Christian business coach, I’ve walked alongside many of you through the highs and lows of building a God-centered online business. And now, it’s time for a bit of transparency about my own journey.
You might have noticed a theme in our community: the call to disrupt ministry, to embrace our God-given callings, and to navigate the tumultuous waters of online business with faith as our anchor. It’s a path I’ve walked myself, from running a successful local photography business to pivoting completely into the world of online coaching and course creation. The decision to shut down my photography business wasn’t easy, but it was a step taken in obedience, with a newborn at home and a heart full of trust in what God had in store.
This journey has taught me countless lessons about the power of submission to God’s way, the beauty of community support, and the unrelenting drive required to push through to earn those consistent $10k to $50k months. But it’s also taught me about the necessity of pausing, listening, and sometimes, stepping back to reevaluate and hear God’s voice more clearly.
Embracing the Pause
And so, with a mix of excitement and a hint of vulnerability, I’m sharing that I’m entering a mini-sabbatical. A pause. A moment to breathe, to listen, and to await a new direction. This isn’t about stepping away from the mission but rather stepping deeper into it, guided by a season of prayer and listening for God’s voice amidst the hustle and bustle of business growth and strategy.
This period of stepping back is not just about rest but about realignment and reevaluation. It’s about asking hard questions, like whether our current funnels, our program structures, and even our client interactions truly align with the path God is laying out for us. It’s a moment to ponder on the bridge between the old and the new, acknowledging that sometimes, to move forward, we need to pause, reflect, and perhaps even change direction.
Navigating the Bridge Between Old and New
As a Christian online business owner and entrepreneur, I’ve realized that our businesses are more than just income generators; they’re ministries, platforms for testimony, and avenues for serving God’s kingdom in profound and impactful ways. This sabbatical is my way of ensuring that my business continues to be just that—a ministry that stays true to its calling, even if that means restructuring, reimagining, and revamping how we operate.
This isn’t a step taken lightly. It’s a leap of faith, a testament to the belief that when God calls us into periods of quiet, it’s not for stagnation but for growth, for upleveling, and for greater clarity on how to serve Him and His people more effectively.
Looking Ahead
So, what can you expect? A return with fresh vision, renewed energy, and perhaps new ways to serve you better. This journey of entrepreneurship is a shared one, after all. And as I navigate this sabbatical, I encourage you to also listen closely for God’s direction in your life and business. It’s in these quiet moments that He often speaks the loudest.
In the meantime, keep pushing forward. Keep trusting. And remember, you’re not alone. We’re in this together—wild, radiant, and wholly committed to making an impact for God’s kingdom through our businesses. Here’s to the journey ahead, to the lessons we’ll learn, and to the incredible ways God will move in and through us as we step out in faith, strategy, and grit.
