One of the game changers in my routine has been the implementation of time blocking. Though I don’t adhere to this method every week, it becomes my go-to during particularly busy periods. By dividing my day into specific blocks—an AM block, a WORK block, and a PM block—I create a structured framework that significantly enhances my focus and productivity. Planning these blocks weekly, even if I don’t always stick to them rigidly, has been instrumental in managing my time effectively.
Hack #2: Under-Desk Treadmill
Incorporating movement into my daily routine has been another pivotal hack. With the demands of homeschooling and managing an online business, finding time for exercise can be challenging. My under-desk treadmill has been a lifesaver, allowing me to integrate 1-2 hours of walking into my day effortlessly. This not only combats the afternoon energy dips but also keeps me physically active, which is crucial for overall well-being.
Hack #3: Outsourcing Things I Hate
Delegation is key to productivity, especially when it comes to tasks that drain your energy. For me, handling emails and accounts receivables, including dealing with missed payments, were tasks I dreaded. By outsourcing these chores, I’ve freed up more time to focus on what I truly enjoy and excel at.
Hack #4: Work on Weekends & Evenings
While unconventional, choosing to work during evenings and weekends has been incredibly effective for me. This flexibility is one of the perks of running an online business and homeschooling. It allows me to capitalize on creative surges and tackle big projects in uninterrupted blocks of time.
