I am hoping today’s episode will be an encouragement to you as we talk about prioritizing the things that matter most in life! Our online coaching business should never become an idol! God is the only idol that we want in our life!
If you don’t know, I recently lost my grandmother. This has me reflecting on life and the things that really matter. One thing I admired so much about my grandmother was her dedication to Jesus. You could truly see heaven inside of her with her heart for others and for God. While we want to be a good steward as Christian coaches, we need to remember in this Christian Podcast that God is our everything and that there is a season for everything! Especially in the grand scheme of things, we have to ensure that we are running the race of life in such a way that takes us to the promised land and not down a path of idol worship.

ALL CONSUMING
Your business can be all consuming with new ideas, client issues, stress, and more, but we have to remember what is most important and that is our God, our family, our friends, and our community. When we are out running the race, we have to be sure to make time for the things that matter the most!
Even after being in business for all of these years, God had to realign me recently when I had a client issue that tried to steal my peace. As I started getting worked up, God gave me pause and redirected my attention to my three precious children. At that moment I stopped and asked myself what am I getting so worked up over? THIS is what really matters! Once I realized how precious these moments are with my family and children, I was able to let it go, remove my emotions, and lean into this wonderful season of life without letting the enemy steal my joy.
Don’t let your business become all consuming! Remember what is most important! OUR FAITH! OUR FAMILY! OUR ETERNITY! Don’t let the stresses of life eat you up! Process through that stress, put the situation in God’s hands, and ask Him to give you the words and knowledge to handle the situation. Then let God take care of it! Get back to what is important in life.
GOD IS THE ONLY IDOL
We have to be extremely careful to not put our businesses on a pedestal as an idol. THis means sitting with God, surrendering, and allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what matters most. While important, if we aren’t careful, we can allow these things to steal our joy and energy. They take away from what really matters, and that is eternity. God is the only idol that we need. Don’t let your business shift into your idol. Is there anything that you are holding on to so tightly that it consumes you? Stay in alignment with the Holy Spirit and check your motives. Surrender it all often!
YOUR TRUE NORTH
God gave you this passion for your business, however, there are those difficult days that you need to push through and remember your why…your true north. Be excited to operate in the anointing that God has given you and don’t be afraid to pivot when God tells you to. Sometimes we create an image in our own mind of what our business or life should look like and hold so tightly to it that we are unwilling to allow God to move in our lives, and instead of embracing a blessing, we create an idol.
Again, focus on what matters most. Remember why we are here on earth…to lead people to Jesus, to be obedient to His Word, and to love people.
Trust that God has a plan. When we are operating in His will and we are fully submitted to His authority, His will and His way, we cannot go wrong. Selah means to pause and pray. Let’s be women that pause and pray about what we are doing. It is truly all about the why and the season that God brought you to. Don’t lose track of what really matters at the end of the day. Submit your hearts to what He wants, surrender your will, pray hard, have the right heart posture and discern the seasons.
