Hey, hey ladies! If you’ve ever felt like you’re drowning in a sea of sameness online or like your voice is just a whisper in the chaos, I feel you. I’ve been there too. Today, I want to share my heart about something that’s not just a nice-to-have anymore, it’s essential for survival in this online space: becoming a thought leader as an online Christian business owner.
We live in a time where the internet is saturated with voices – some loud, some echoing what everyone else is saying, and some completely lacking depth. But what if I told you that you have everything you need to stand out? Not because you’re the loudest, but because you’re willing to be bold, real, and rooted in your faith.
Being a Christian Thought Leader Online Isn’t Optional Anymore – It’s Necessary
Let’s get real. Building online is harder in this season than it was in the past. You’re working two, maybe three times as hard for the same dollar you made a year or two ago. But guess what? That doesn’t mean we throw in the towel. It means we have to dig deeper and ask – how can I stand out?
Being a follower isn’t bad – but if you’re called to leadership in the Christian coaching world, you’ve got to have something unique to say. And that uniqueness? It’s rooted in your testimony, your conviction, and the boldness the Holy Spirit has placed in your heart.
I always say, you can’t build a kingdom coaching business if you’re afraid to have your own thoughts. If you want to succeed as an online Christian Life Coach or a Christian Business Coach, you have to step into your voice and stop hiding in the vanilla zone.
Your Convictions Are the Key to Your Calling
Let’s go a little deeper here – being a thought leader isn’t just about having an opinion. It’s about having conviction. It’s about saying the things God has placed on your heart, even when it feels uncomfortable or unpopular.
In 2020, I was super outspoken about all the chaos. And I got totally cancel cultured for it. I wasn’t trying to be divisive – I was just brave enough to say what 50% of the country wanted to say. But here’s the thing: once I tapped into my unique convictions and began boldly sharing my testimony, my business exploded. That’s when I stopped blending in and started standing out.
So What Are You Afraid to Say?
Literally…what do you feel convicted about? Maybe it’s something in your niche that no one else is talking about. Maybe you’re in the health and wellness space and God’s told you to help women strip down the idol of food or appearance before they can truly heal. Or maybe you believe TV’s shouldn’t be in the bedroom and for the record, we totally have one – but hey, some people feel really strongly about that!
Whatever it is, it’s time to stop hiding. Because your audience is craving realness. Not more Pinterest-perfect quotes or regurgitated advice. They want to know what you actually believe. That’s what will build trust and draw them in.
You’re Not Too Much. You’re Called.
Let me tell you something powerful, friend – you’re not too much. You’re not too loud. You’re not too opinionated. You’ve been called for such a time as this. The world doesn’t need another copycat coach. The world needs you – authentic, set-apart, and filled with the Holy Spirit.
One of the most frustrating things I see online is people who just copy others. And honestly, I’ve had Christian coaches straight-up steal my content after being approached about it multiple times. It’s not only frustrating…it’s unethical. And it’s never going to grow your online business the way God intends. Because if you can’t think for yourself, why are you even online?
How to Actually Step Into Thought Leadership
So what does this look like practically?
- Tap into your testimony: Start with your story. What has God walked you through? What fires you up? That’s the heart of your brand.
- Stop playing it safe: Say the thing. Share the unpopular opinion. Be willing to get spicy (in love, of course).
- Get confident in your message: Your ideal client wants clarity and confidence. If you’re clear about what you believe, they’ll feel safe investing in you.
- Build a bold brand: Your brand should reflect your convictions. Don’t water it down to appeal to everyone.
- Let God refine your voice: Spend time in prayer and ask the Lord to show you what He wants you to say in this season.
This is the Business Battlefield – Are You Armored Up?
I always say, we’re not just coaches or course creators – we’re warriors. This is the business battlefield. You’ve got to armor up with truth, boldness, and discernment. Because building a set-apart online business means being willing to lead when everyone else is just following.
So let me ask you this…what are you waiting for? God didn’t give you your voice so you could mute it. He didn’t give you your message so you could bury it. He gave it to you to LEAD.
