Today on the Christian Business Podcast, we’re diving into victim mentality and false identities and asking if we are claiming this over our relationships, our businesses, and our faith. Our identity is what we need to focus on as a society, for our kids, for our communities, and because Satan is on the prowl to steal this from us! We need a solid foundation for our identity as we face cultural pressures, stolen identities, and get really focused on forging Godly identities in Christ…and all of this impacts our online coaching or course based businesses.
VICTIM MENTALITY
There is no place for a victim mentality in entrepreneurship. You simply won’t be successful if you are a victim. Have you fallen prey to this way of thinking in your business? “I will start when it’s not as crazy…” “I don’t have the money to invest…” or “ I have young kids at home…” and the list goes on. We’re claiming a victim mentality over our business journeys and it’s time to toughen up. We are victors!
TRAUMA
Over the past few years, I have experienced my own trauma at a heart level, and I’m seeing the fallout of dysfunction. Trauma impacts all of us, and we need to recognize how that impacts every area of our lives. At the same time, we need to push through with resilience. It’s time to be hypervigilant about not letting this trauma make us apathetic. The only way this is possible is with true submission – so that God can do the work in your heart and fulfill your dreams with you.
FALSE IDENTITY
As a Christian business owner, it’s time to step into a season of work. We rest in Christ, but we can’t sit back and not take action. Are you giving up before you ever step out? Many of us are stuck in old identities and possibly even believing downright lies, which is holding us back in our business and prevents us from stepping into the abundant life that God is inviting us into.
Good news – it’s time to move out of the season of grief and mourning, from the season of sackcloth, and move into a season of victory! Psalm 30:11-12 says, “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!”
