I love a fresh year. I really do.
Normally, January hits and I feel energized, clear, excited – ready to run. But stepping into this year felt different. And I wanted to be honest about that, because I know so many Christian women in online business are feeling the same way.
I don’t feel as refreshed as I normally do.
That surprised me. The year before was good. The business was consistent. Revenue was solid. Life was full in all the ways that matter. But I could tell something had shifted internally.
There was more weight. More responsibility. More awareness.
And that’s what led me into this conversation – because when you’re a Christian Business Coach or Christian Life Coach, you don’t get to ignore those nudges. You pay attention to them.
When More Isn’t the Assignment Anymore
As I reflected on the season I’m in, one thing became very clear: I feel called to build less publicly and more privately right now.
Even though everything looks good from the outside, right now, I feel called to build more behind the scenes. That doesn’t mean nothing is happening. It means the work looks different.
Over the next few months, my focus is on backend systems, refining offers, strengthening messaging, and optimizing the day-to-day operations of the business. These aren’t flashy tasks. They don’t come with instant feedback. But they’re essential if you want a business that actually lasts.
And this is where I see so many women struggle when they’re learning how to build a coaching business.
The Pressure Christian Coaches Feel to Always Be Visible
I work with women every day who believe that if they aren’t posting constantly on Instagram or Facebook, their business somehow isn’t legitimate.
I have so many clients who think if they’re not posting every day, then it’s not official.
But the truth is, most of the time they’re trying to market offers that haven’t been fully built yet. They’re attempting to sell without first laying the foundation.
That’s backwards.
Visibility without structure leads to burnout. Growth without systems creates chaos. And momentum without clarity eventually collapses.
God is not impressed by noise. He’s a God of order.
Jesus Built Privately – And That’s Not an Accident
This is where the perspective shift really matters.
We talk a lot about Jesus’ public ministry, but we rarely sit with the fact that He spent 30 years building privately before stepping into it.
I brought this up in the episode because it reframes everything. Jesus didn’t rush His calling. He didn’t shortcut the process. He didn’t skip formation to get to fruit faster.
And yet, as Christian women in business, we often expect ourselves to build something meaningful in a fraction of the time – while juggling family, faith, leadership, and life.
If Jesus didn’t rush, why do we think we’re supposed to?
When You Start Feeling Antsy in the Quiet Seasons
Behind-the-scenes seasons can make you restless. I get it. I feel it too.
I shared on the podcast that this is a discipline – especially when you have so much you want to create, say, or build. There’s always the temptation to push, to launch, to do “just a little more.”
But that’s also when discernment matters most.
This is where you have to remember that God is a God of order.
If you notice that you’re posting just to post, creating content just to get something out there, while neglecting the things that actually matter – your family, your health, your systems, your offers – it’s time to pause.
Sometimes the most faithful move is recalibration.
Slowing Down Doesn’t Mean Doing Less
This is a big misconception in the Christian coaching industry.
Slowing down doesn’t mean you’re being passive. It doesn’t mean you’re lacking ambition. And it definitely doesn’t mean you’re being disobedient.
Slowing down is intentional – and it doesn’t mean doing less either.
It means doing the right work for the season you’re in.
It means building depth instead of chasing speed. It means finding rhythm instead of reacting to pressure. It means letting God set the pace instead of comparing yourself to everyone else online.
Why I’m Changing My Launch Rhythm Right Now
In this next season, I’m intentionally stepping back from my typical launch schedule. That’s not something I do lightly. And yes – it feels risky.
But it’s needed.
I’m focusing on strengthening the day-to-day before expanding outward again. Because you don’t want to be so focused on selling offers that you never have time to build them well, update them, or refine the messaging around them.
That kind of pace might look successful in the short term, but it’s not sustainable – and it’s not wise.
There’s a depth that only comes from privacy. And the depth that comes out of privacy is truly remarkable.
What This Means for You as a Christian Coach
If you’re learning how to build a coaching business and you feel unsettled right now, I want you to hear this clearly:
You’re not behind.
You’re not doing it wrong.
You’re not missing something everyone else has figured out.
You might simply be in a season where God is calling you to build quietly.
Private seasons are where clarity is formed. They’re where confidence is strengthened. They’re where businesses become sturdy enough to carry what’s coming next.
Don’t rush what God is establishing.
