Today we are talking about coaching methods and what it takes to develop these. Ultimately when you’re developing a coaching method, there are multiple things to think about such as how to unpack it, how to brand it, and how to market it. A lot of coaches do not walk in knowing exactly what their coaching method is, and that’s OK! Your coaching method is a huge part of selling your programs because people LOVE knowing YOUR process. Think of it as the secret sauce to starting your coaching business!
UNPACKING YOUR METHOD
So here’s the good news – when it comes to unpacking your coaching method you don’t have to search beyond the horizon. Believe it or not, you’ve already walked through it in your very own unique way. When I first decided to jump into the coaching world in 2018, after running a successful photography business, God put the word bloom in my heart. God showed me that the process of a flower growing was more than just getting to the blooming phase. It’s about planting a seed, building strong roots, forming the stem, and getting all the nutrients needed to nourish the flower so that it will bloom. I took that symbolism and created my coaching method. I built my first program in the photography space to help other women photographers build their businesses. My clients WANTED the secret sauce that came from my testimony. Everything you need is right inside your testimony! So now you get to teach someone else how to reach their desired transformation through your framework.
BRANDING YOUR METHOD
It wasn’t until I got really specific on my brand and who I was called to help that I saw tremendous growth for my coaching business. At first my coaching program was for any woman photographer who just wanted freedom. But then the Holy Spirit really put it on my heart in the summer of 2020 to go faith-based. Not only did I start helping women photographers, but I started helping Holy Spirit led women photographers who also tend to be highly conservative. I was able to talk to them in a way that was so specific and so unique to my brand and my calling. Your brand is literally what is going to create connection and conversation with your clients and captivate them. This is where you set yourself apart from the world and be unique to your calling. Don’t get stuck in the mindset of just wanting to make sure your branding is pretty and perfect. Of course you can make it fun with symbolism, acronyms, etc., but ultimately, you want to make it understandable. Allow your branding to reflect your testimony and walk your clients through a transformation. People will buy what they see!
MARKETING YOUR METHOD
Once you have branded your coaching method, it is time to connect stories to it. You need to communicate your method in a way that will captivate the heart of your clients. So much of your marketing will come from the behind the scenes work you’ve already done. Ultimately, show HOW people have walked through this signature method of yours and have seen breakthroughs. Share client wins – behind the scenes, and anything else that will help clients know that what you have is exactly what they need.
