Hey, hey ladies! It’s Ashley June here – and today’s episode of the Set-Apart Online Business Podcast is going to be a little loaded. I’ve got some raw thoughts that I need to get off my chest about why online Christian coaches and course creators aren’t seeing the success they’re dreaming of in the online space. I’m not here to sugarcoat anything. Today we’re diving deep into mindset, obedience, and the grace-driven grind of building your faith-based online business.
If you’ve ever sat on the sidelines, second-guessed yourself, or spent more time “thinking” than “doing,” this one is for you.
Are You Called…But Still Stuck?
Here’s the thing, sister: you’ve been praying about this online business. You’ve joined the coaching program. You’ve watched the trainings. You have a Google Doc full of ideas and even some Trello boards to match…but you’re still not implementing.
Why?
Because you’re stuck in your head. You’re stuck in perfectionism, overthinking, and fear. You’re trying to do everything perfectly before you even launch, and meanwhile, weeks, months, even years go by. And friend…I say this with love – this is the #1 reason some women fail in my programs. It’s not a lack of strategy. It’s not that the coaching didn’t work. It’s because they didn’t launch.
If that’s you…it’s time to get out of your head and step into the battlefield.
When I Lost My Own Momentum
Last year, I personally slowed down a bit. I let some pieces of my business go. I needed a break – needed to reset my nervous system. And rest is good, right? But when I was ready to rebuild momentum, I had to get back to the grind. And let me tell you…it wasn’t comfortable.
Getting back into the swing of things reminded me that building an online Christian coaching business takes serious faith and serious follow-through. It’s one thing to dream. It’s another to implement.
Faith Without Works is Dead
Ladies, here’s some hard truth: God will not bless a business that you won’t sow into. It’s biblical order. You reap what you sow. And if you’re half-planting, guess what? You’re not going to see the harvest.
This isn’t about hustle culture. This is about Holy Spirit-led grit. This is about sowing seeds consistently, not just when you feel like it. You’re either building a business or you’re entertaining a hobby.
So, I want to ask – have you invested your time, your finances, your energy? Are you waiting on results from strategies you haven’t even fully committed to? Because newsflash: you’re not going to make $100k in sales with 2 people on your email list and a glorified Canva graphic. You have to be realistic about what it takes to grow.
Momentum > Perfection
On a group coaching call recently, one of my students shared how she had been stuck in a cycle of starting and stopping for years. She had a fear of success. Every time she got some momentum, she pulled back.
This is what I call momentum sabotage. It’s like driving a car and hitting the brakes every mile. Of course, you’re not going to get far. But if you keep the wheels turning, even slowly, it’s so much easier to maintain progress.
So instead of starting over every other month, start implementing. Even imperfectly. Especially imperfectly.
Stop Worshipping the “Shiny”
The online business world is full of shiny objects, get-rich-quick schemes, viral hacks, 30-day promises. But God’s Kingdom doesn’t run on get-rich-quick. God builds legacy. Longevity. Obedience.
As an online Christian business coach, my biggest frustration is seeing women throw in the towel too early because they’re trying 5 billion strategies without mastering even one. This is why I tell my students to “brain dump, categorize, and prioritize.” You can’t do it all. But you can do something. Start with that.
Ask the Lord: Where Am I Stuck?
You can’t out-strategize spiritual blockages. Ask the Lord to reveal where you need healing. Maybe it’s fear. Maybe it’s trauma from past failures. Maybe it’s pride. Let the Lord in. Because mindset and healing are essential to sustainability.
And by the way, results don’t show up instantly. I tell my students to expect at least 2-4 months before a marketing shift starts to compound. This is long-game territory. Trust the process.
Final Word: Your Business Is Your Contribution
You can’t outsource obedience. No one is going to build your business for you. Your success is 100% tied to your work ethic laced with the grace of God. So allow yourself to feel stupid. Launch before you’re ready. Let go of perfection. Do the uncomfortable work. That’s how transformation happens.
