Recording from beautiful Nosara, Costa Rica, today’s podcast episode is all about my recent client retreat and what our nomadic family experience will look like over the next 5-6 weeks as we unplug from our normal day-to-day chaos, reset our nervous systems, and reconnect as a family with God.
As a christian online business coach, my life can get pretty busy planning launches, serving clients, building new programs, and adding in my roles as wife and homeschooling mama to three little wild ones, and you’ve got a serious recipe for burnout. BUT – God has given me the secret ingredients to avoiding burnout and staying energized in my life and coaching business. Rest and reset.

Life has been SO BUSY!! It’s been crazy! But, things are finally calming down as we close out our first week as a family in Nosara, Costa Rica and I want to share all about our retreat, how it went, and what we are experiencing as a family right now!!
RETREAT
This retreat was so amazing and life changing. We got to experience God in nature instead of waiting for him to come to us. And It brought us alive! It was like being in the garden of eden. And although we had some rain, I couldn’t have asked for better weather or a better group of ladies or a better experience.
Their attitudes were always so positive and uplifting, and after being in the coaching world for so long now, I’ve seen my fair share of poor attitudes. And I’m just going to come out and say it…. I can’t stand poor attitudes. It negatively affects everyone around them and truthfully, it can be a huge detriment to building something that God wants you to build because you have to be open and flexible. And more often than not, a bad attitude stems from unmet or unrealistic expectations that leads to resentment and anger.
Overall, I’m so proud of these ladies and the energy they brought to this retreat!
We did have a few hiccups on the first day of the retreat when all of the ladies were showing up, but God is so faithful that He made a way for the ladies to get to the retreat house despite the mucky roads, and the rest of the retreat was amazing.
Our retreat was filled with legacy planning sessions, surf lessons, ATV tours, waterfalls, and a zipline, ending most days in front of the beautiful Costa Rica sunset. It was AMAZING! It left us feeling energized and driven and ready to tackle the world.
PICKED MY FAMILY UP
On the last day of the retreat, as the ladies were leaving, my family arrived. I was so excited to see my little ones and my husband. Nearly a week after the retreat, we’ve finally had time to settle and recoup and just reset our nervous systems. Now, it’s time for us to figure out our new normal . This season of our life was busy as I worked on my launch and planning for Costa Rica. I have been starting to hit a wall because I am feeling tired…and the heat…but I am slowly starting to feel more energy.
And sadly, our dog passed away before they left too which was really hard, but also we felt relieved that we wouldn’t have to worry about him while we were in Costa Rica. Obviously we will always miss him, but we are thankful that we got to spend his last moments together as a family and now he can rest with Jesus.
RESETTING OUR NERVOUS SYSTEMS
Learning a new normal for this season. With so much going on with homeschooling, launching, and just the season of busyness. Now we’re in the mode of resetting our nervous systems. It’s been something that I’ve been praying for and God has given me the ability to let go of some of the things on my mind.
Having my team work on projects and having them work on more of the visionary stuff is great! It brings me so much peace knowing God has a big plan for our family. The most amazing thing is just having the space between projects to be with my family and focus on what’s most important.
My husband and I even have more time to have big life + marriage conversations so that we can focus on things we’ve been wanting to work on.
Actually I read a 450+ page book from start to finish and it was glorious….I haven’t read in a long time but now we don’t have shows to put on which is nice.
We’ve been surfing!!! And my body feels like it’s healing in a lot of ways.
I’m so excited to share some of the things that I’ve been envisioning and dreaming about lately. I have some big dreams about my life and business and I know it’s going to be amazing. I don’t know all of the details, but I am embracing the opportunity to have peace and dream in this season of my life.
So, if you’ve been dreaming of having a season of resetting and healing for your life and family, know that it CAN happen! Just keep believing and dreaming for it and God will give you the ability to see it come to fruition.
