This month is all about scaling – today we are chatting about what life looks like for an online coaching business that has scaled past $100K. As a Christian business coach, I normally don’t talk about making multiple 6-figures very often. Instead, I talk a lot about the women who are building a coaching business and are still in the launch stage. But as my business continues to grow along with my students, I believe this is the time to start having this conversation. I want to prepare you for the scaling journey and break the myths because scaling is so different past the $100K mark. Getting to your first $100K simply proves that your offer sells and you can now dial into your messaging – congratulations!
GRIND + GRIT DOESN’T SCALE
It’s not what you think…you can’t just WORK harder and expect to make more money and have more clients. You have to work SMARTER. Working smarter can be HARD, especially when you are used to your everyday business routine – the grit and grind. Burnout is Real and it is so easy to overcomplicate things. You can’t assume that just because you made your first $100K that you are ready to hire a team.
SIMPLIFYING IS KEY
Simplifying is KEY! You will constantly have to remove distractions. The new project or new element that you want to add to your product must wait until you get some ground underneath your coaching business. In order to build an effective business and scale, you must be able to say NO. What may have worked once may stop working…be ready to trim the fat on systems, processes, etc. Taking yourself out 100% doesn’t always work. If you have a business then you will have to be in it.
LEAD GENERATION
Every single day you should be building your email list. You have to amplify your reach to bring in people every single day…Paid advertisement is HUGE! If you are just relying on the organic reach of Facebook and Instagram you will cap out. The big players in the online business industry are all running ads and bringing new people into their business EVERY Single Day. However, the problem with paid advertisements is CASH FLOW!
When you come into your business you will have to decide where you are going to spend your time and where you are going to market and what that will look like. As you scale, remember to keep your eye on the prize as you get to that first $100K. Think about your audience and how you can nurture them in one place. I want to encourage you, if you are going from $0 to $100K, embrace the process and understand that there will be a lot of grind and grit to get there – but your success will come by working smarter and not harder. You will have to pray for those first clients, first 6 figures, multiple figures, and so on. If you have already reached that $100K mark, that means people want what you have – so you can continue to push forward. Learn to embrace every stage of scaling and accept God’s perfect timing in the process of growing your business.
