Why You Should Be Planning Faith-Based Retreats for Your Online Business
Hey ladies! Today, I’m so excited to dive into a topic that’s really close to my heart and has become a game-changer in my business–planning faith-based retreats. If you’re a Holy Spirit-led entrepreneur looking to build an online business that goes deeper than just screens and sales, then retreats might be the missing piece for you.
When I first started my online business, I didn’t realize retreats would become a foundational part of what I do. But here’s the thing—I’ve always loved bringing women together. There’s something powerful about gathering in person, away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, and just “being.” My journey with retreats started way back in 2015, well before I even entered the Christian coaching space. And let me tell you, retreats are a breath of fresh air for your soul, your business, and for those you serve.
The Unique Power of Faith-Based Retreats
Retreats have this magic about them. It’s not just about getting away—it’s about transformation. In my business, faith-based retreats are more than a weekend getaway; they’re about nurturing deep connections, inspiring breakthroughs, and refreshing your spirit alongside like-minded women who “get it.” I remember attending a photography retreat with a Christian community years ago. It sparked something in me, and I knew right then that creating spaces for women to gather would be essential in my own business journey.
If you’re a Christian life coach or a Christian business coach, retreats can add a whole new level of depth to your business. They provide a unique opportunity for your clients to unplug from the digital world and dive deep into personal growth, surrounded by supportive women who share their faith. Plus, it’s a whole lot of fun!
Because Online Gets Old
Let’s be real—being online 24/7 can get really tiring. We need things that take us away from our computers, places where we can connect in a more meaningful way. Sure, digital spaces are amazing, but there’s just no substitute for an in-person community. Being in the same room, sharing a meal, laughing, and even praying together—it’s a whole different experience.
Hosting retreats allows me to create that space for my students. And let’s face it, in-person interaction nourishes the soul in ways that a Zoom call can’t. One of the things I love most is seeing women come alive at these events. Whether it’s worshiping together, sharing stories, or tackling life and business challenges, being with like-minded women recharges everyone. So, if you’re building a coaching business and want to offer more than just online sessions, consider retreats. They’re a beautiful and rejuvenating way to serve.
Community Sells (But it’s So Much More Than That)
Now, I want to be transparent—yes, retreats can be a powerful business strategy, but they’re also so much more. Building a genuine community that fosters connection and growth can be incredibly fulfilling. For me, hosting retreats isn’t just about making a sale–it’s about creating a home for women who didn’t have a home in the online world.
In fact, a lot of my students sign up for my programs because they know they’ll have opportunities to connect in person. It’s something they crave. In a world where so many people feel isolated, being part of a real, supportive community is invaluable. I pride myself on creating that space where women can feel seen, valued, and loved. So, if you’re in a niche like health, marriage, or personal development coaching, retreats are an incredible way to build a loyal community around your mission.
There’s a reason why people come back to my retreats year after year. They don’t just come for the teaching; they come to be part of something bigger, to create lifelong friendships, and to have a blast while they’re at it. Trust me, the memories and friendships that are formed at retreats are priceless—and they’re a huge reason why people keep coming back to my programs.
Extra Cashflow and Brand Building
Another amazing benefit of retreats is that they can bring in extra income for your business. Let’s be honest—planning and hosting a retreat does require investment, but it’s also a fantastic revenue stream that adds value for your clients. Hosting retreats helps me maintain a steady cash flow, plus they give me an excuse to refresh my branding photos, gather testimonials, and showcase what my programs are all about.
Every time I host a retreat, I capture photos and videos that serve as “proof” of the community I’ve built. When potential clients see these images, they get a glimpse into the life-changing experiences they could be part of. And let’s not forget the testimonials! Every retreat brings fresh testimonials and success stories that help validate my business and attract new clients.
If you’re a Christian coach looking to elevate your brand and establish a long-lasting community, retreats are a brilliant way to do it. They not only enhance your income, but they also help solidify your brand’s reputation and message.
Planning Your First Retreat: Start Small, Aim Big
If you’re ready to dive into planning retreats for your business, my biggest piece of advice is to start small. My early Christian women’s retreats were simple gatherings where we split costs and focused on community. Over time, as my business grew, I was able to turn retreats into a structured, revenue-generating part of my programs.
In 2020, I hosted my first paid retreat in Breckenridge, Colorado, and it was a turning point. I realized then that retreats could be more than just a fun gathering—they could be transformative experiences that change lives. Since then, I’ve hosted retreats all over—from the Outer Banks to Costa Rica—and each one has been unique and impactful.
So, if you’re new to this, don’t worry about creating a huge, elaborate event. Focus on gathering your people, creating meaningful connections, and letting the experience grow organically. Remember, it’s not about perfection; it’s about creating a space where women can connect, grow, and be filled up.
Make Faith-Based Retreats Part of Your Business
Incorporating faith-based retreats into my business has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Not only have they enriched my clients’ lives, but they’ve also become a key part of my brand and coaching business growth. Retreats bring in extra cash, foster deep connections, and allow me to share my heart and vision in a way that no online program can.
So, if you’re a Christian coach, whether in life coaching, health, or marriage counseling, consider adding retreats to your business model. They offer your clients something truly special and give them a reason to stay connected with you for years to come.
