Are you a mama who is overwhelmed with the busy life of motherhood and feel like you just don’t have the time to dedicate to running a successful online coaching business? I am here to tell you that there is no excuse that is big enough to not do what God has called you to do. I started my coaching business and went all in literally at the worst time. I had three kids that were ages four and under, including a newborn. Today I am walking you through what it looks like to grind and push your way through the resistance of stepping into your calling as a Christian coach, while still showing up for your family.
BE FLEXIBLE + GET THE FAMILY ON BOARD
If you are like me, having the children full-time at home can be challenging when you are trying to focus on completing tasks for your coaching business. Being a wife and a mom is definitely your first priority, so when it comes to scheduling time dedicated to your business, you’re really working a pretty tight schedule. You must be flexible with knowing that things can and will change at any given moment. You will have to stop working to pick the kids up from school and soothe your baby after waking up from a nap earlier than expected. Things change! The key here is to build in your work times during different days, get your family on board and draw boundaries in your schedule.
SUBMIT YOUR TIMING TO GOD
During the process of building my coaching business, I really had to submit my timing to God. It’s common to think that once you start your first launch and you are doing all the right things that the money will just come rolling in. If I am being honest, I wanted to jump in and make money right away. After launching my first program in May of 2019 and only gaining three local clients, I realized that I still had more to learn and more work to do. So when I put myself out there, and things didn’t go as well as expected, I still had to know that God was totally in control. Understand that His grace is sufficient and made perfect through our weakness.
THE GRIND WILL PAY OFF
The students I see that are NOT successful in their coaching business are the ones who get stuck in the building phase and never put the work in to launch their programs. They allow excuses to get in the way of them putting themselves out there. No, it is not an overnight thing but the GRIND of putting in the much needed work at the beginning will PAY OFF! I now work 15 hours a week on average and have created my business around my children’s school schedule. God has given us a mind that can be very creative and if we want something bad enough, we can make it work.
This is a GREAT time to build…because there is never a good time to build. Building a thriving coaching business is possible. But, you do have to sacrifice for a season. You do have to be flexible. You do have to do your best to get your family on board. So get on board with the process and DO NOT take no for an answer!
