Entrepreneurship, Ministry, Online Business

Hey ladies! Today I want to talk about something I see come up all the time with women who feel called to build a Christian online business. This is especially true if you see yourself as a Christian business coach, or you know God has called you to create something online that truly serves people and makes a real Kingdom-impact.

There is a very specific place where women get stuck when it comes to launching or growing an online business, and most of the time it has nothing to do with effort or desire. It usually comes down to confusion around how they’re supposed to build what God has given them. It often starts with this question, Do I have a ministry…or do I have an online business? When you don’t know how to answer that, it affects everything, how you charge, how you build systems, how you market, and whether or not you feel confident going all in on entrepreneurship.

Where Christian Women Coaches Get “Stuck”

I see this constantly with women learning how to build an online coaching business. You feel called to help people, you want what you’re building to honor God, and at the end of the day, you just want to be like Jesus and serve.

But when it comes to actually growing what you’ve started, things begin to feel heavier than they should. The vision feels complicated, you’re doing a lot, and yet it doesn’t feel sustainable. Most women get stuck because they feel forced to choose one or the other, ministry or business.

They’re either:

  • Pouring their heart and soul out for free, or

  • Feeling turned off by business because it seems like money and marketing with no soul.

That false choice keeps many women stuck at the same level for years.

When Online Work Is Treated Only Like Ministry

When women treat what they’re building only as ministry, this is usually what happens. They’re doing a lot for free, pouring into people constantly, and making an incredible Kingdom impact, but there is very little structure or income supporting what they’re doing.

There are incredible ministries out there, but the ones that last are structured. Think about the church. Churches fund ministry activities, steward finances, and operate with leadership, systems, and accountability. That doesn’t make them less spiritual, it’s what allows them to keep serving.

When you’re building something outside of that structure, you still need income to support the work. You still have a family to take care of, and your needs still matter. Serving in ministry requires resources, and resources require structure.

When Online Work Loses Its Mission

On the other side, some women go all in on strategy and leave the ministry behind. Everything becomes about:

  • Marketing

  • Numbers

  • Productivity

  • Growth

For women with a heart for people, that can feel off. This is where what started as a calling can begin to feel disconnected, all systems and no soul.

I’ve experienced this myself. Before stepping fully into faith-based online business, I was building things that worked on paper, but I wasn’t clear on the deeper mission behind them. There was a point in my photography business where making money wasn’t enough. I lacked clarity on who I was serving and what the bigger mission was.

It wasn’t until I niched down to Christian women photographers and got very specific with my offer that everything shifted and it turned into an amazing online business.

Here’s the Beautiful Truth

You don’t have to choose between ministry and online business. Your online coaching business can be a ministry, and it also needs to be stewarded with wisdom. This is where most women miss it. They think the choice is either to serve people or build something profitable, but that’s not how something sustainable works.

The real shift is stewardship.

Stewardship Is What Allows Growth Without Burnout

When you start viewing what you’re building through stewardship, everything changes. You begin stewarding:

  • Your operations

  • Your clients

  • Your revenue

  • Your marketing

This is what allows growth without burnout. This is also how my own online coaching business came alive. I get to serve women I care about, build something profitable, and honor God at the same time.

That combination isn’t just sustainable, it’s how you fulfill your God-given calling.

If you’re feeling frustrated, depleted, or stuck, it’s often because you’re trying to build a ministry without structure, or something structured without mission. When you bring the two together, everything shifts. If God gave you the vision, He also cares about how it’s sustained. God has a great plan for you, my friend, and you are in the right place to turn your dream into a thriving, Kingdom-building business. I’m praying this helps you find the freedom to fully chase your God-given calling.
