Hey, hey ladies!
Today I wanted to do something a little different. It’s been a while since I’ve talked about what life really looks like for our family – homeschooling, travel, online business, marriage and everything in between. I’ve been reflecting on the vision I once had for my life and how, by the grace of God, that vision has become a reality.
This season feels peaceful and stable. We’re thriving as a family and it’s all because I chose to partner with the Lord and design a life that aligns with His purpose for me. None of this happened by accident. I intentionally built an online business that supports our family’s calling while allowing me to create space for the things that matter most – slow mornings, time together and the freedom to go where God leads.
Thriving as a Family in This Season
We’re still homeschooling, and I truly believe it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I can’t imagine managing the level of sports, travel, and activities we do if the kids were in a traditional school. The slow mornings and flexibility are such gifts. Being able to skip enrichment classes when we need a breather or enjoy a relaxed start to the day gives our family so much peace.
I’m not a morning person – I never have been. I thrive when our mornings are slower, when I can sip my coffee, spend quiet time with the Lord and ease into the day. That rhythm has become one of the most valuable parts of our homeschool and business life.
This fall our oldest daughter played competitive soccer, and that brought plenty of travel. I drove three and a half hours to Steamboat and back for one single soccer game and honestly, it was glorious. The mountains, the drive, the laughter with her teammate in the car – it reminded me how thankful I am that my work as a Christian Life Coach gives me the flexibility to be fully present as a mom.
Because of our homeschool schedule, I now get almost three full workdays each week while the kids are in enrichment programs. They’re thriving academically, my husband has a flexible job he loves and our home rhythms feel grounded. We’re past the baby and toddler stages and having kids who are 11, 8 and 7 makes life feel fun and full of energy.
This peace didn’t come by chance. It came from building a vision with intention, discipline and faith – and sticking with it even when it felt counter-cultural.
A Year Filled With Travel and God’s Goodness
If there’s one thing that makes me come alive, it’s travel. I think surfing might come in second, but exploring new places is in my DNA. This past year has been one adventure after another – ski trips in Colorado, a girls’ trip to Charleston, our Oak Island retreat with my Selah Collective students, and a two-week trip through Ireland, London, Normandy, and Paris. Then there was our Alaskan cruise, camping with friends, the zoo and indoor water-park trip and another retreat in Winter Park, Colorado.
As this episode airs, I’m literally on a plane to Costa Rica with my husband. We haven’t been back since 2023 and my soul has been craving it. I always get such a spiritual reset there – the ocean, the surfing, the quiet space to hear from God.
And here’s the thing: I get to live this way because of the faith-based online business God helped me build. In Europe this summer, I worked maybe two or three hours total. In Alaska, I was completely offline for a week and my team kept everything running smoothly. That’s the power of structure, systems and Spirit-led strategy.
This is a huge reason why I built my business the way I did.
My life gets boring without travel and I wanted to create something that could sustain both work and wonder. As a Christian Business Coach, I want women to know that freedom like this is possible. You can build a profitable business that supports your family, fuels your calling and creates space for the things that bring you joy.
Designing a Business That Works for You
You really can design a business that fits your family. I did, and I continue to make adjustments every season to protect that margin. Seven years into entrepreneurship, I’ve learned how to build systems that allow me to serve my clients deeply while keeping my family first.
My first business was photography, and while it offered flexibility, it was also seasonal and demanding. I missed summer weekends and family events because I was booked for weddings. Eventually I realized I wanted something different. That’s when I transitioned into coaching – and my online business gave me the freedom I’d always prayed for.
Before I had kids, I knew I didn’t want to leave them as newborns to go work a traditional job. I wanted to be home full-time and still build wealth for our family. That dream became the framework for everything I do now.
As a Christian entrepreneur, I’ve structured my coaching programs around recurring monthly rhythms. I take time off each month, and my delivery model is flexible enough that I can reply to clients while sitting at soccer practice or waiting during homeschool pickup. I don’t take calls in the mornings because I know that’s my creative time. My days are designed around flow, not frenzy – and that’s what keeps me consistent and peaceful.
If you’ve been wondering how to build a coaching business that gives you freedom, this is the key: create intentional systems and keep God at the center. When you operate from rest and revelation, your business naturally aligns with your purpose.
Partnering With God in Vision
This life wasn’t an accident – it was vision plus obedience. Even before kids, I had a picture in my heart of what I wanted our family life to look like. I prayed over that vision, wrote it down, and trusted God to bring it to life one step at a time.
Now, I can honestly say that my life is exactly what I dreamed it would be. It’s not perfect, but it’s purposeful. Every part of it, from homeschooling to travel to running an online business – is a testimony of God’s faithfulness and the fruit of taking bold, Spirit-led action.
If you’re in a season of dreaming or feeling stuck, I want to encourage you: create the vision and go design a life you love. Partner with the Lord. Partner with your spouse. Take one obedient step at a time. God wants to give you the desires of your heart and He’s waiting for you to build in alignment with Him.

Friend, you don’t have to build your business like the world. You can build it with the Word. You can homeschool, travel, run a successful faith-based online business and still have time to rest. You can be the mom who’s present and the CEO who’s profitable. You can build a legacy that blesses generations.
Every dream I had – slow mornings, family travel, purposeful work – came true because I chose to write the vision, make it plain, and follow through in faith. That’s what I want for you too.
