Hey Set-Apart CEO! Let’s talk about funnels.
Now, before your eyes glaze over and roll to the back of your head or you think, “Ugh, not this techy stuff again,” I need you to know—funnels are not the enemy. I promise! No doubt that we, as Christian Life Coaches or Christian Business Coaches, want to be extremely focused on our calling and less on the things that seem overwhelming or converting clicks into cash. So, hear me out—what if I told you your funnel could be built in under 30 minutes and actually be a beautiful, Spirit-led process?
Stick with me and I will talk about the #1 funnel mistake I see online business entrepreneurs make—and how to fix it biblically. Because yes ladies, your marketing funnel can be Holy Spirit-led and simple.
So…What is a Funnel, Really?
Let’s start here, because I know some of you are like I was in my photography days—hearing people throw around terms like “ClickFunnels” and wondering if you accidentally stepped into a tech bro convention LOL.
A funnel is simply a marketing pathway that takes people through a journey of
Brand Awareness → Nurture → Conversion
Think about it like this—people find out about what you do (brand awareness), they build a relationship with your content (nurture), and then they decide whether to work with you (conversion). That’s it. Simple, right!
Your funnel could be something as simple as:
- Your audience watches your IG Reels.
- They opt into your free training.
- There is a DM conversation.
- Boom, client!
Or more structured:
- From the free training opt-in page.
- Attend a live workshop or webinar.
- After the training there is a sales page with an email sequence.
- Paid offer with a sign up link.
Same flow, different format. But regardless of how you set it up, the purpose is to guide people through a process of trust and conversion.
The Gospel is a Funnel (Seriously)
Let’s get biblical, sis. I realized one day that the gospel is actually a funnel.
People became brand aware of Jesus—they heard about the miracles, the signs, and the wonders. Then they listened to His teachings and were nurtured by the truth. Eventually, they decided to follow Him—that’s conversion.
How beautifully simple is that?
God didn’t make salvation complicated. So why are we making our funnels so dang complex?
The Big Mistake: Overcomplicating the Funnel
This is where so many Christian business coaches get stuck.
Ladies, the biggest mistake I see is overthinking and overcomplicating the funnel. You start questioning every detail. Should I use Kajabi or ConvertKit? Do I need a full webinar or just a freebie? Should I post five IG Reels a day or just go all in on Facebook ads?
Sis, stop. Breathe.
The Bible says, “Let your yes be yes and your no be no.” That’s clarity. That’s simplicity. That’s structure.
Overwhelm leads to inaction. I’ve seen countless Holy Spirit-led women spin their wheels in analysis paralysis, never building the funnel because they’re too busy trying to make it perfect. Truth bomb: you could build a basic funnel in 15 minutes. Like, for real. Start with an opt-in and a couple emails. Done.
Funnels Are Not Just for “Techy” Coaches
If you’re in the online business world—whether you’re a Christian Marriage Coach, Christian Health Coach, or Kingdom Business Mentor—funnels aren’t optional. They’re how you scale your impact and invite people into transformation.
And listen, funnels are natural. That’s why I love teaching my clients how to build Spirit-filled sales funnels that don’t feel manipulative or pushy.
You’re simply offering a win (like a free resource or workshop), nurturing trust (through value-packed content), and then inviting them to go deeper (your paid program). That’s all.
Examples of Simple, Set Apart Funnels
Let’s break it down a bit further with real-life scenarios that are working for me right now as an online business coach and for my clients:
Example 1: The Live Workshop Funnel
- Invite people to register for your free workshop.
- Deliver valuable, transformational content live.
- Pitch your coaching offer with a direct call-to-action (CTA).
Example 2: The DM Sales Funnel
- A potential client finds your IG Reel and starts bingeing your content.
- They opt into your free training.
- They send you a DM asking for more details → you hop into a sales convo → boom, client!
Example 3: Classic Webinar Funnel
- Free opt-in for a webinar or video training.
- Email sequence builds trust and directs to a sales page.
- They purchase your course or apply to your group program.
It’s so simple, and guess what? It works because it’s simple.
Funnels vs. Traffic: Know the Difference
Here’s another thing I have to clarify—funnels are not traffic.
Funnels are the structure. Traffic is the fuel.
Think of it like oil in your car. You need something to drive people into the funnel—this comes from podcasting, FB ads, Instagram Reels, Pinterest, guest speaking…you name it. But don’t confuse one for the other.
You can have the best funnel ever, but if nobody is going into it? Crickets.
How to Fix the Mistake Biblically
Biblically speaking, the way to fix the funnel mistake is simple:
Let your yes be yes. Stop wavering. Build the thing.
Don’t wait for perfection, it does not exist. Don’t let fear, confusion, or tech hiccups steal your calling! Build your funnel, test it, then tweak and refine it over time. This is the heart of kingdom entrepreneurship—we walk in obedience, then watch God multiply.
You can optimize your funnel over time in the following ways:
- Refine your opt-in page for better conversions.
- Improve your webinar script.
- Strengthen your email sequence.
- Update your coaching offer to meet the needs of your people.
This isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about creating a clear path to transformation—and doing it in a way that honors your calling and feels aligned with the Holy Spirit.
Final Encouragement
If you’ve been delaying building your funnel, this is your sign to go do it now.
Literally, in 30 minutes, you could have your first funnel live. It might not be perfect—but it will be real. And God can breathe on that obedience.
Whether you’re a new Christian online coach, have an online business or trying to reach your first $10k month, or maybe a seasoned Kingdom entrepreneur scaling to seven figures—your funnel is your foundation.
Keep it simple. Keep it biblical. And let God handle the results.
