Hey, hey ladies!
Let’s get real for a second – everyone wants to know the secret to scaling to seven figures. It feels like this magical place where business is easy, money flows, and you finally arrive. But here’s what I’ve learned: scaling isn’t nearly as complicated as people think.
When I officially hit seven figures in 2023 as a Christian Business Coach, it wasn’t because I was hustling harder than everyone else or had the most perfect strategy. It was because I leaned into three core things that God kept pressing into me: surrender, systems, and simplicity.
And today I want to walk you through what that actually looked like in my life, because these aren’t just business principles – they’re rhythms that kept me aligned with God’s plan while growing a business that serves my family and creates kingdom impact.
Surrender: Letting God Lead
The first key is surrender. And honestly? This is the hardest one.
I’m a doer. I’m driven. I like to set goals and chase after them. In the beginning, I built my first six figures by sheer grit. I was a one-woman show, babies at home, nap-time hustles, late-night laptop marathons…and it worked. I crossed that first milestone without a team or extra support.
But when I tried to take that same energy into scaling, I hit a wall. Hard.
The year 2023 was big for us, our first seven-figure year, but it was also the year we started homeschooling, the year we were deep into renovating a commercial building, and the year I realized just how exhausted I was. By early 2024, my launches weren’t hitting like they used to, I was stretched thin, and I felt burnt out.
In that season, I laid the business down before the Lord and asked Him to make it clear if He wanted it to keep going, because I knew I couldn’t carry it in my own strength.
That season of surrender was scary. I pulled back from signing new clients for a while. I rested more than I worked. But God met me there. He gave me fresh vision for my programs, breathed new energy into my team, and reminded me that this business isn’t mine to carry – it’s His.
Surrender doesn’t mean giving up. It means giving God the steering wheel, even when you want to grip it tight. And if you’re going to scale, you need that posture of surrender. Otherwise, you’ll burn yourself out chasing results you were never meant to create on your own.
Systems: Running Your Business Like a Machine
Once I surrendered, the next piece was systems.
I’ll be honest – I used to wing it. I’d sit down at my desk and just jump into whatever felt urgent. That works in the early hustle days, but it will keep you stuck when you’re trying to grow.
Scaling requires order. It requires treating your business like a machine that needs fuel, maintenance, and structure to run.
Here’s a super practical example: this podcast. Each episode takes me about an hour to prepare – writing notes, recording, and doing a quick edit. But that one hour doesn’t just stay as a podcast. It multiplies.
From that single recording, the content gets turned into a blog post, published on Spotify and Apple, sent out in two different emails, and broken down into eight social media pieces ranging from Facebook and Instagram posts to reels and carousels.
So what started as one hour of my time becomes a week’s worth of content across multiple platforms, all working together to grow my business. That’s the power of having the right system in place.
If I didn’t have that system, content creation would eat up my whole week. And honestly? I’d hate it. But with the system, I get to stay in my lane – creating and leading – while my team runs with the rest.
That’s what systems do. They free you from being the bottleneck. They give you back your time. And they allow your business to keep running smoothly, even when life is full of homeschooling, family trips, or – let’s be real – commercial building renovations.
Simplicity: One Core Offer
The last piece is simplicity.
I see so many women in the Christian coaching industry trying to juggle memberships, mini-offers, low-ticket bundles, and five different coaching packages. And they wonder why they’re exhausted and not gaining traction.
But here’s what worked for me: one core program.
Early on, I built a group coaching program – what’s now known as The Selah Collective – and that’s when things really took off. Later, I added Eden, my mastermind for women scaling to $500k–$1M. But I didn’t try to do everything all at once.
Keeping my focus simple allowed me to refine, optimize, and actually scale without burning out. My coaching schedule is now about 1-5 hours a week. Add in an hour for content, a few hours on backend projects, and some team communication – and that’s it. Ten to fifteen hours a week running a seven-figure business.
Because I kept things simple, I built a business that fits my life instead of running my life. And that’s the kind of business I want you to build too.
Scaling is Actually Simple
So here’s the truth: scaling doesn’t mean more hustle. It doesn’t mean chasing every trend or launching 20 different offers. It comes down to three things:
Surrender – letting God set the pace and the plan.
Systems – building order so your business runs smoothly.
Simplicity – keeping your offers focused so you can scale without burning out.
Scaling is about stewardship. It’s about building something that creates freedom for your family, impact for your clients, and a legacy for the kingdom. And when you lean into these three keys, you’ll realize scaling is actually a lot simpler than you thought.
